<![CDATA[ Gamesradar+ ]]> https://www.gamesradar.com Mon, 02 Sep 2024 09:42:48 +0000 en <![CDATA[ How to find the Counterfeit Credits in Star Wars Outlaws ]]> The Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits quest requires you to do some investigating on behalf of the Pyke Syndicate, to identify where fake currency is making its way into their local economy. This starts with revealing which of the market traders is circulating it, but unlike some of the other Star Wars Outlaws missions with reasonably clear objectives, you're just given a vague area to search and are left to figure the rest out for yourself. If you're finding your detective skills are somewhat lacking, then here's how to reveal the market trader with the counterfeit credits in Star Wars Outlaws.

How to start the Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits quest

To start the Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits quest, you need to have good reputation with the Pyke Syndicate, as without that the required NPC will not be available to meet. Head to the location in the Mirogana Pyke Syndicate territory marked on the map above, and you'll find a Pyke sat in the bar area between Contract Broker Roba Barev and the Star Wars Outlaws Sabacc table. Get chatting with them and they'll tell you about counterfeit credits that are currently circulating in Pyke market, then ask you as an outsider to investigate on their behalf. You'll receive the Market Trader intel in your journal, which will direct you to an area of the Pyke market.

So you know that you need to identify which market trader has the counterfeit credits in Star Wars Outlaws, but the intel simply tells you to search the area and says "shopping around in the market could reveal who it is" which isn't very helpful on the surface. But if you think about it, you need to get the trader to give you credits, so you can check to see if they're fake.

To do this, approach Hen Puon (the Merchant on the east side of the market area) then interact and choose to sell something – ideally a valuable that is marked as having no use and is safe to sell, but if you don't have any then either go and do some pickpocketing with Nix or sell a material you have plenty of. Kay will identify the credits as counterfeit, then confront the Merchant who will reveal their source. This will lead you to the Soup Kitchen in Crimson Dawn District, where you can complete the second part of this quest.

To do this, you'll need to infiltrate the Crimson Dawn District, which will involve climbing in through the vent near the guarded entrance if you don't have a good reputation with that group. Sneak through the back of the soup kitchen into the rear area, then take out the guard on the balcony.

Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits

From there, vault down from the balcony to the floor below, then work your way counter-clockwise around the outside of the area to infiltrate the raised Restricted Area platform. While avoiding the two patrolling guards, send Nix to hold the lever then quickly pass under the large fan while it's stopped spinning.

You can then climb down the ladder into the Crimson Dawn Vault, where you'll find a crate full of counterfeit credits – it's then a decision to warn the Crimson Dawn that their operation has been compromised or report what you've found to the Pykes, depending on which of those Star Wars Outlaws Factions you want to improve your reputation with. You can now climb the ladder, jump off the balcony above the vault, then head up the stairs and out of the area via the soup kitchen (and vent if necessary). Report your findings to the relevant group and the Star Wars Outlaws Counterfeit Credits quest will be complete.

In our Star Wars Outlaws review we described it as "An exceedingly fun Star Wars game that's hindered by poor stealth systems", however the immersive experience it provides means it's still one of the best Star Wars games.

<![CDATA[ How to get the Star Wars Outlaws Smoke Bomb Compressor ]]> The Star Wars Outlaws Smoke Bomb Compressor is an integral part for unlocking Smoke Bombs for Kay, but getting this part is quite a challenge. You've got to head all the way towards the northwest region on Toshara's map – Boulder Forest – and then need to figure out one of the many Star Wars Outlaws wind-based traversal puzzles. Eventually, you'll reach a chest with the necessary item inside, so let me guide you through this Smoke Bomb Compressor puzzle.

Star Wars Outlaws Smoke Bomb Compressor location

After unlocking "The Mechanic" as one of your Star Wars Outlaws Experts, you'll receive the Smoke Bomb Compressor intel that leads to a mountainous area in the northwestern Boulder Forest region of Toshara.

The first hurdle is the gusty cave (above) which you can only get through by riding your speeder and boosting to negate the strong winds pushing you back. You'll reach a small clearing where Kay can grapple up to a ledge to reach the Fallen Mound and begin the Star Wars Outlaws Smoke Bomb Compressor puzzle properly:

 1. Run along the ledge and swing across the gap ahead to the next section – an area with a few paths carved out by wind that blasts through the area every so often, pushing Kay back.
 2. Wait for the wind to die down, then sprint down the path to the right to reach a clearing where the wind does not blow. Watch out for the big hyena-like creature here.

 1. Head over to the rock wall on the opposite side of the clearing and climb up to the ledge.
 2. Carry on along the ledge, abseil down when prompted, then continue down the path to reach an open area with constant wind.
 3. Bear right and go up the short path that isn’t affected by the wind, then use your ion blaster mod to shoot the electrical node. This node is quite hard to spot with all the dust, but it's to the right of the doorway where the wind is coming from. Shooting stops the wind for just a couple of seconds.

 1. Jump down and sprint for the crevice to the right of the door, but make sure you keep shooting the node with your ion shots every few seconds to stop the wind blasting Kay all the way back into a pit (though you should find a piece of Star Wars Outlaws Coarseweave in there for your troubles).
 2. Once through the crevice and into the cave, shoot another electrical node straight ahead to temporarily stop the wind again.
 3. Run to the other side of the cave to the rundown control panels, then direct Nix to hold one lever while you pull the other. This opens the door directly opposite.

 1. Shoot the node and run across again, then head through the door. Here you can open a chest to get the Overgrown Amber Stone Major Charm which gives Kay an extra chunk of health and boosts her Adrenaline gains when taking hefty damage.
 2. Ride the lift up and loot the crate ahead to get the Smoke Bomb Compressor.

Finally! It's a lot of work for just a single part, but Smoke Bombs are a useful part of Kay's arsenal, helping to cover tracks and create distractions. Now you can hop on your speeder and fly out the cave where you'll also spot a large Imperial turbolaser turret. If you sneak in here and use your Star Wars Outlaws Slicing Kit to get inside, you can scramble down a ladder and loot an Ion Capacitor Charge – an item needed to get the Concussive Smoke Bomb upgrade from the Slicer's Expert abilities, which makes these bombs even better!

These sorts of puzzles are a lot like ones found in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, which is one of the best Star Wars games you can play now. While Outlaws just inches its way onto that list too, you should take a look at our Star Wars Outlaws review to see what we thought.

<![CDATA[ All Star Wars Outlaws weapons and blaster upgrades ]]> Star Wars Outlaws weapons and blaster upgrades are what can make the difference in a fight, but they may not necessarily work the way you think they do. Kay Vess' blaster pistol is a sturdy firearm in a firefight, and there's plenty of upgrades you can get for it across the course of the game, but as a rule the weapons in Star Wars Outlaws are more temporary pickups than a mainstay of our hero's arsenal.

Still, it's worth understanding how the weapons work, how you can get upgrades and modifications for your blaster, and even how you unlock the best weapons that aren't initially available when you start the fight. If you want to know where to get the best weapons in Star Wars Outlaws - and how to make your blaster into one of them with upgrades - here's how it works.

All Star Wars Outlaws weapons and how to get them

Star Wars Outlaws weapons

Besides Kay's default blaster, there are 14 different weapons in Star Wars Outlaws that can be obtained as temporary pickups. They are as follows:

 • A300 Blaster Rifle - standard assault rifle with middling stats
 • ABR-2 Zato Blaster Rifle - burst rifle for mid-range combat
 • DLT-20A Sniper Rifle - chargeable scoped sniper rifle
 • E-11 Blaster Rifle - short-range blaster similar to an SMG
 • E-11D Blaster Rifle - powerful mid-range blaster that fires in bursts
 • JND-41 Percussive Cannon (CITT) - short-range blaster with explosive rounds
 • MPL Grenade Launcher - arcing explosive launcher that fires two at a time
 • MPL Rocket Launcher - rocket launcher with two rounds
 • Phase-Pulse Short Rifle - charging shotgun with random projectile spread
 • PK-23 Sniper Blaster - scoped sniper rifle with no charging options
 • Relby V-10 Blaster Rifle (CITT) - explosive-round semi-automatic blaster rifle
 • TL-50 Heavy Repeater (CITT) - full-auto assault rifle with built-in small energy shield
 • Z-6 Rotary Cannon (CITT) - gatling gun with with built-in large energy shield
 • ZB-3 Modulator Cannon (CITT) - heavy-duty LMG with middling fire rate

All of these weapons can be found either held by certain enemies or left on weapon racks in their camps and bases. However, not all of these can be used off that bat - those weapons marked above with "CITT" are locked off until Kay finds the Star Wars Outlaws Expert: the Mercenary and unlocks the "Can I Try That?" ability.

However, with the exception of the blaster, players cannot keep the weapons they find. Once they run out of ammo, they're useless and automatically thrown away. You also cannot bring weapons onto Speeder bikes, so while Kay can learn how to shoot on a Speeder in Star Wars Outlaws, she can only do so with her own blaster.

All Blaster upgrades and modifications in Star Wars Outlaws

There are three main modifications to Kay's Blaster in Star Wars Outlaws as follows:

 • Plasma: Standard shots, the default starting modification.
 • Ion: Electrical shots. These stun enemies, break shields, do high damage to droids, and can be used to activate electrical devices.
 • Bolt: Charged shots that do heavy damage. Also used to break Star Wars Outlaws rocks and walls.

All three major modifications are unlocked by progressing through the main story, and have attached upgrade trees unlocked the same way, though unlocking some of those variant upgrades and enhancing these modifications once you have them will require spending resources at your workbench in the Trailblazer.

Best weapon in Star Wars Outlaws

The best weapon in Star Wars Outlaws is the Z-6 Rotary Cannon, the gatling gun used by Imperials. It has a lot of ammunition, a built-in shield that protects Kay from threats in whatever direction she's facing, and while it's not too effective at range, it utterly shreds opponents who get too close.

Of the many options available for Kay's Blaster, her best modification is the Bolt Pulse, the third of the three modifications for the final form of Kay's blaster. It allows for the Bolt to be charged, but doesn't have to be (unlike the standard form), granting the player much more versatility in combat.

<![CDATA[ Star Wars Outlaws Rehidden Stash and Waterfall Stash locations ]]> Star Wars Outlaws' Rehidden Stash and Waterfall Stash are part of an Intel chain on Toshara where Kay Vess has to hunt down the location of a hidden treasure. It's not as easy as it sounds, but then again, what in the cutthroat world of Star Wars Outlaws even is? After going to find the Waterfall Stash, you'll be redirected to the Rehidden Stash after it turns out somebody found it before you and moved the loot - and we'll help you find the locations of them both in our guide below.

If you want to start the Waterfall Stash and Rehidden Stash intel chain for yourself, head to Toshara and the Dabah Power Station that's on the road to the Southwest of the city of Mirogana. Lean on the bar inside and you'll overhear two smugglers chatting about the Waterfall Stash, unlocking this little quest chain.

Star Wars Outlaws Waterfall Stash location

After unlocking the Waterfall Stash Intel in Star Wars Outlaws, head to the marked location West of Jaunta's Hope. Appropriately enough, you need to head along the river until you find the little waterfall. If you've experience with video games, you know what to do here - head through the waterfall itself through a gap in the rocks, marked above.

Inside, however, there is no treasure here - you need to read the note that's been left behind, which explains that the treasure has been moved, unlocking the next stage of the Intel quest chain - the Rehidden Stash.

Star Wars Outlaws Rehidden Stash location

The Rehidden Stash in Star Wars Outlaws leads you to a marked area North of Typhon's Rock, but where to look isn't clear. In fact, you need to make sure you've unlocked the Ion modification for the Blaster before you go here, as you won't be able to get the Rehidden Stash without it (if you don't have it yet, simply progress the main story until you do).

Once you do though, head to the farm marked in the centre of the Rehidden Stash search zone. Here, go to the larger building to the South with the red door. The Stash is inside, but you need to work out how to open it.

Looking through the window next to the door, you should see a Shutter that you can send Nix through to open. Do so, and inside will be a generator. Shoot the generator with the Ion Blaster to power it up and temporarily open the red door, allowing you to enter the farmhouse.

The Stash is a mixture of treasures in a cupboard on your right as you enter. We found 2 Forged Identichips (a sellable resource) and 2 Bantha Wool (a crafting resource), though it may vary from player to player.

What are your thoughts on Kay Vess' odyssey? Our Star Wars Outlaws review lays out the good and bad of Ubisoft's foray into the galaxy, or if you've got a taste for more skywalking action, check out all the upcoming Star Wars games.

<![CDATA[ What are the Black Ops 6 beta rewards and how to earn them ]]> Black Ops 6 beta rewards are available across both weekend sessions, and can be displayed as a badge of honor once unlocked to prove that you were there duking it out from the very beginning. If you know how to access the Black Ops 6 beta then you'll have seen there's an initial Early Access beta followed by an Open beta, and while most of these rewards can be unlocked through cumulative progress across both sessions, there is one item that can only be collected by maxing out your Player Level during Weekend One. Earning any of the cosmetics listed here will also carry them over to the full release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, so you don't need to worry about losing them once the testing period has ended. For the lowdown on what's available, these are the Black Ops 6 beta rewards and how to unlock them.

How to unlock Black Ops 6 beta rewards

There are a total of nine Black Ops 6 beta rewards up for grabs, so you can customize your profile to show everyone else that you were there squashing bugs right from the start. These are unlocked when you reach the following Player Level milestones during the beta:

 • Level 2 - Beta Tester Animated Emblem
 • Level 6 - Beta Tag Spray
 • Level 11 - No Bugs Weapon Charm
 • Level 15 - Quick Draw Emote
 • Level 20 - Squish Westpoint Operator Skin [Weekend One only]
 • Level 20 - Squash Westpoint Operator Skin
 • Level 23 - The Truth Lies Loading Screen [Weekend Two only]
 • Level 27 - Beta Expert Animated Calling Card [Weekend Two only]
 • Level 30 - Bug Smasher Weapon Blueprint [Weekend Two only]

Note that during Weekend One player progress is capped at Level 20, but if you reach that milestone within the first beta period then the exclusive Squish variant of the Westpoint Operator Skin will be yours. If you hit that level during Weekend Two then you'll get the less vibrant Squash variant instead, but either way you'll need to push on to Player Level 30 during the second beta period to unlock the last three Black Ops 6 beta rewards.

<![CDATA[ Who is Kay Vess, the main character in Star Wars Outlaws? ]]> Who exactly is the main character of Star Wars Outlaws? Kay Vess is an original scoundrel created by Ubisoft Massive for its open-world crime-filled romp across the galaxy far, far away. She's cunning and capable, and has a cute pet called Nix, but that won't get you far in the merciless world of Star Wars Outlaws. That means she's got a lot to learn if she's to hit big amongst the various criminal syndicates and the carnage of the galactic war. Here's a primer on Kay Vess to help you understand who the main character of Star Wars Outlaws is.

Star Wars Outlaws main character explained

Star Wars Outlaws Kay Vess leaning on bar

In Star Wars Outlaws, you play as Kay Vess, a young woman and thief who dreams of escaping her dangerous life to live free in the galaxy. Humberly González, who you may know from TV shows like Ginny and Georgia, Nurses, and In The Dark, provides the voice and performance for Kay. She even did some voice work on Ubisoft's previous titles Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Far Cry 6.

Kay is from Canto Bight on Cantonica, which you might recognize as the casino planet in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, though the game actually takes place much earlier in the Star Wars timeline between Episodes V and VI. Specifically, she's from the Worker's District of Canto Bight, which is far removed from the opulence of the main city.

To survive in the downtrodden district, Kay's mother, Riko Vess, taught her the basics of petty crime, helping Kay to become a talented thief and adept at Star Wars Outlaws lockpicking and slicing. At some point during her childhood, Kay happened across a merqaal creature who she took in as a pet and called Nix, and he is a major asset in her criminal undertakings, helping her distract and steal from her targets.

However, prior to the start of Star Wars Outlaws, Riko abandoned Kay on Cantonica, leaving her to fend for herself. With little to her name and not many marks left to swindle in the Worker's District, Kay lives job-to-job, renting a small loft room in the Broken Hoof bar. Bram Shano, the bar's owner, has been looking after Kay for years, providing free food and helping her pick up illicit work around the city – with his care and mentorship, Bram is also the first Star Wars Outlaws Expert Kay unlocks and he helps her to learn the Star Wars Outlaws Fast Talk ability.

Star Wars Outlaws Kay Vess looking out over Canto Bight

With no crew to rely on and barely any Star Wars Outlaws credits to her name, Kay is becoming increasingly desperate. This desperation and her relative naivety to the truly cutthroat nature of the Outer Rim's criminal underworld means she's really quite in over her head. And so, the game kicks off with her tussling with the Worker District's local gang, the Sixth Kin, before things escalate, leading to her crossing the leader of the dominant Zerek Besh syndicate, and eventually the likes of the Pyke Syndicate, Hutt Cartel, and the Empire.

In our Star Wars Outlaws review, we praised González's portrayal of Kay, and you can also see how Outlaws stacks up in our list of the best Star Wars games.

<![CDATA[ When does Star Wars Outlaws take place in the canon timeline? ]]> When does Star Wars Outlaws take place, and does it matter much for the story? The Star Wars timeline covers thousands of years at this point, with different factions, powers, types of status quo and levels of technology, so exactly when in the canon timeline Star Wars Outlaws is set makes a significant difference to Kay Vess' story: after all is the Old Republic, the Empire or the First Order currently in control? Are the Jedi still a dominant force? Is the galaxy going through one of its increasingly rare moments of peace? We'll explain when Star Wars Outlaws takes place below, and what the implications for the narrative are.

When is Star Wars Outlaws set?

Star Wars Outlaws screenshot

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the original series films "Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi", with Star Wars timeline scholars placing the exact year as 3 ABY (after the Battle of Yavin, the official method by which the Star Wars community frames the timeline of events).

Taking place at this point in the Star Wars canon has some meaningful impact on the story and the setting, with the following to keep in mind as you play:

 • The Empire is currently the dominant authority and power in the Galaxy, having not yet been defeated by the Rebels in Episode VI.
 • The war between the Rebellion and the Empire is at its peak, especially after the destruction of the first Death Star in A New Hope. It's mentioned frequently in Outlaws that the rebellion serves to distract the Empire and make it easier for criminal syndicates to operate.
 • The Jedi are not a significant force (pun intended). Though Jedi and force users like Luke Skywalker and Yoda do exist at this point in Star Wars lore, there aren't many of them, and those that are around are mostly in hiding.
 • This timing can also provide context about certain characters who show up. We won't spoil who appears, but we all know how cameo-happy Star Wars as a franchise can be these days, and Outlaws has a few characters coming back from the films and expanded media, to varying degrees of significance. Keeping the timeline in mind can help you better understand their motivations, importance and where they are in their personal journey.

Going into further detail than this risks spoilers, but having these facts and dates in mind before you go into the narrative will help players better understand the context in which Kay Vess' criminal journey takes place. You might also notice that a couple of the Star Wars Outlaws planets that appear are those that feature in the sequel series, like Cantonica and Kimiji. This means that players are seeing them prior to their appearance in the films, and can see how they've changed accordingly.

For a more in-depth discussion of the narrative, check out our Star Wars Outlaws review, or find out where it sits on our ever-changing list of the best Star Wars games.

<![CDATA[ How to access the Black Ops 6 beta and when does it start ]]> Knowing how to access the Black Ops 6 beta means you'll soon be able to jump into the combat zone, and see what Treyarch has to offer in the latest Call of Duty instalment. There are some big changes being lined up for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, including the new Omnimovement system to fluidly get around the battlefield and a single-player Training Course to bring your skills up to speed, plus a selection of Black Ops 6 beta rewards to unlock by levelling up.

Unlike previous betas that had a PlayStation exclusive period, BO6 is happening at the same time on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, so it will release simultaneously across PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Furthermore, Game Pass subscribers on Xbox and PC can automatically get into the Early Access beta, with no pre-order required. For all of the details, here's how to access the Black Ops 6 beta and when it starts.

How to access the Black Ops 6 beta

To access the Black Ops 6 beta, you first need to find it by searching on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam. If you pre-ordered the game digitally then you should automatically be able to download the Early Access beta right now through those platform storefronts, or if you pre-ordered a physical copy then you'll have been sent separate instructions for how to access the beta with a redemption code. If you're a Game Pass subscriber then you'll also be able to play the Black Ops 6 Early Access beta, though Game Pass Console subscribers may also need Game Pass Core to use multiplayer features.

The same process is used to access the Black Ops 6 Open beta, and if you get it installed now then you'll be ready to go once September 6 rolls around. While this should be available to download now on consoles, PC players may need to wait a little longer for it to be added to Battle.net and Steam.

As always, there are two tiers of access when it comes to the Black Ops 6 beta, depending on whether you've paid up front for the full game or not. For everyone who pre-orders (and Game Pass subscribers), the Black Ops 6 Early Access beta begins on Friday August 30 and runs until Wednesday September 4, giving five whole days to get an early taste of what's to come. For everyone else, this will be followed up by the Black Ops 6 Open beta that starts on Friday September 6 and continues through to Monday September 9, providing a further three days for the wider player base to explore.

Here's a full breakdown of the planned access times, but do note that these may be affected by server errors or other issues during the course of testing:

 • Black Ops 6 Early Access beta: August 30 @ 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST to September 4 @ 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST
 • Black Ops 6 Open beta: September 6 @ 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST to September 9 @ 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST

<![CDATA[ Where to find the Astro's Playroom Special Bots locations ]]> Astro's Playroom Special Bots started appearing back in June, after they were stealthily slipped into the game via an update. From then onwards, a new Special Bot was made available each month, with players having to solve various challenges and puzzles in order to unlock hidden bots based on Bloodborne, Returnal, Gran Turismo, and Ape Escape. The reward for beating these riddles is that any unlocked Special Bots will carry over to Astro Bot at launch, meaning you'll have extra members on your crew from the beginning. The solutions would be particularly difficult to figure out on your own, so I'm here to guide your through how to unlock all of the Special Bots in Astro's Playroom.

If you haven't played Astro's Playroom recently, there's a new Secret Labo area that can be accessed by standing on the blue teleport pad in the PlayStation Labo near the PS5. From there, you can access the Mission Room where all of the Astro's Playroom Special Bots you've unlocked so far will be counting down the days until the release of Astro Bot.

Go up the steps, then turn around and walk along the beams above the area you just passed through, where you'll find a small astronaut doll. Stand on top of it, then wait for one of the spitters to kill you with their ranged slime attack.

Added: August 2024
Location: Bot Beach, Cooling Springs

To kick off this Astro's Playroom Special Bot challenge, there are four starfish on the beach you need to stand on in the correct order. Each one in turn will make an audio cue as you pass over it, so you know you're on the right track.

After landing on the beach, go to the wooden pier on the right hand side then stand on the starfish in the shadows underneath it.

Next, go to the end of the wider wooden deck on the left hand side of the beach, then stand on the starfish just in the water behind a white shell.

Now cross over to the right side of the beach again, and look underneath a palm tree near a sandcastle for the third starfish to stand on.

For the fourth and final starfish, go back over to the left edge of the beach and down the side of the big pipe to find it sitting under the water – you just need to swim over it.

The Special Bot will now appear in front of you, with a snaking arrow shown on the display of their capsule. Pay attention to this route, as you'll need it shortly to complete the challenge.

Swap to the other edge of the beach again and down the side of the opposite big pipe, where tucked underneath you'll find a blue shell you can knock over to reveal a steering wheel in the sand.

Press Options next to the steering wheel, which will bring up the map but you'll also hear an engine revving, and can now drive Astro around this screen. Follow the route exactly as laid out in the image above, which is: Up, Left, Down, Down, Left, Down, Down, Right, Up, Right, Down, Right, Up, Up, Right, Up, Left, Left. If you make a mistake at any point, hold down X to restart and try again.

<![CDATA[ How to get credits in Star Wars Outlaws fast ]]> Earning Star Wars Outlaws credits is a necessity to fund Kay's scoundrel lifestyle, letting you buy useful materials and outfits or bet big. With so many different types of missions, several open-world planets to explore, and a complex reputation system, Star Wars Outlaws presents lots of different ways to make your way in the galaxy when it comes to getting money. You can gamble, cheat, steal, or work your way to a fortune, but some methods of earning some space-dough are better than others. I've explained the main ways you can get credits in Star Wars Outlaws below and have picked out the best ones to try.

Best ways to earn credits in Star Wars Outlaws

In a game as expansive as Star Wars Outlaws, there are plenty of ways to earn credits, but there are a few easy methods that can help you improve Kay's cash reserves in reasonable time:

 • Selling valuables: The easiest way of getting money, valuables can be looted, stolen, and sold all over the galaxy, so visit merchants to sell what you collect between missions for extra credits. The value of sold goods is also not affected by your Reputation with the various Star Wars Outlaws criminal factions too. However, be wary of selling especially valuable trinkets that carry a "could have some use later" message.
 • Play Wandering Sylop: Wandering Sylop machines can be found in a few places across the galaxy, but the first you'll find one is at the bar of Makal's Gambling Parlor in Mirogana on Toshara. Win all four rounds of the minigame by finding the sylop card and you'll be up by 323 credits. These machines do have a cooldown, however, so you can't play multiple times in a row and need to wait what seems like several in-game days. Whenever you find a machine, annotate it on your map and be sure to have a quick game if you happen to be nearby.
 • Winning bets on fathier races: Betting on Star Wars Outlaws fathier races can be very profitable, earning you 200-400 credits or more, if you know who to bet on. We've got a separate guide explaining in greater detail how match fixing works, so don’t waste your credits on big bets until you can guarantee a win and go all in.

Star Wars Outlaws credit-earning tips and tricks

While the above methods are perfect for earning solid chunks of credits quickly, there are plenty of other ways you can get or save cash. Completing missions of any kind (story missions, Contracts, or even intel side missions) usually result in Kay getting paid, although there are several specific and reliable ways of getting credits that you should definitely be aware of if you're in a spot of financial bother:

 • Successfully slice computers and other devices: Every time you complete the Star Wars Outlaws hacking minigame before you reach the end of the white slots and go into the red, you'll receive a small sum of credits, with harder slices providing a better payout – it's not much but it's better than nothing.
 • Break into keycard vaults: As you venture across the various Star Wars Outlaws planets, you'll likely come across secret vaults belonging to each of the main criminal gangs and even the Empire, containing exclusive rewards and credits. However, all of them are sealed unless you find the three necessary keycards, though luckily there's always a computer nearby you can slice into to learn the rough locations of these keycards.
 • Winning at Sabacc: While not very lucrative due to the time it takes to play a full game, you can earn money from succeeding at Star Wars' high-stakes poker-like, and it becomes even easier once you have a good grasp of the Star Wars Outlaws Sabacc rules and cheats.
 • Plunder Imperial bases: In general, seeking out treasures on your map and in landmarks is a good way to get credits in Star Wars Outlaws, but raiding Imperial bases can get you large credit payouts. Look out for any computers to slice into within a base as they might uncover intel about the loot and security systems, helping you find the most valuable things without many issues. Remaining undetected is ideal but if things go wrong…
 • Slice into Imperial computers and steal back your own money: Make sure you visit an Imperial terminal after you've had a bad run of getting arrested or eliminated by stormtroopers – for example, maybe during the Star Wars Outlaws Slicing Kit quest. Hack into the terminal and pick the "transfer arrest credits" option to steal back what the has Empire fined you for each failure. Picking the "clear wanted status" option is also a good way to lose your Star Wars Outlaws wanted level to lose some heat.
 • Buy from merchants that you have a good Reputation with where possible: Faction-aligned merchants, such as Lalini from the Star Wars Outlaws Rejected intel quest, offer discounts if you have a positive Reputation with the Faction they work with, usually getting you a 10% discount on their stock. Buy the merchant's Faction stock too, and they'll appreciate your custom so much that the discount increases further. Obviously, the reverse is true too where having a Bad or worse Reputation with a faction will result in increased prices, so avoid shopping with merchants who aren't fans of Kay and Nix.

As our Star Wars Outlaws review notes, the game has some interesting systems at play, such as the Reputation system, and it's just enough to get it onto our list of the best Star Wars games.
